My Review:
Foolish Puckboy is the newest installment in the fun Puckboy series by Eden Finley and Saxon James. This time we follow newly-divorced Aleks and firefighter Gabe, who both have different outlooks on life, but still end up in each other’s paths again and again. Unsurprisingly, this book was a lot of fun with cringe-worthy, but hilarious moments, interspersed with sweet and heart-melting interactions.
Aleks and Gabe’s chemistry is instantaneous, and while neither can deny their attraction to the other, Aleks is more hesitant to pursue it. Since he married his high school sweetheart, he’s never had a relationship outside of his wife, and he’s a little unsure of where to start, or even if he wants something serious so soon. So Gabe, being the empathetic guy he is, promises to slow things down and take it at Aleks’s pace.
Even though Aleks wants to take things slowly, though, he can’t deny his ever growing feelings for Gabe the more they hang out with each other. I absolutely loved their relationship! Because they decide to start out slow, we get to see them build a strong base of friendship that they slowly build upon romantically. Which I am a sucker for. These two are so sweet! They genuinely care for each other and want the best for the other. They plan extravagant dates and spend time doing what the other loves because it makes them happy. The affection Aleks and Gabe show to each other had my heart melting! They are so tender and wholesome and I loved them.
Not gonna lie, it took me a moment to realize that we’ve seen Gabe before (in the Husband Hoax by Saxon James), but the moment he said he had five crazy ex-roommates it clicked for me. I was so excited to get a cameo of Gabe’s roommates since I loved their chaotic but wholesome found family dynamic in the Husband Hoax. Having them and the Queer Collective in the same book was insane but amazing. I was living for it!
Overall, I really loved this book and had so much fun with it. I devoured it in a single sitting and already can’t wait for the next installment.
